
Hot! Record Heat Across Minnesota On Mother’s Day
If you wanted hot weather for Mother's Day on Sunday (May 11th), you definitely got your wish. It was a hot one!
Not only was it toasty all across Minnesota but especially here in the Duluth area, where we saw record-breaking temperatures.

We have had a few days of hot weather over the past few weeks, but those days have usually been followed by a much cooler day.
Now, we're in the middle of a little heat wave, with warm temperatures expected to continue over the next few days - following a record-breaking holiday yesterday!

The National Weather Service of Duluth shared details on this string of hot days, sharing that it will be hot, windy and dry over the next few days until rain moves in midweek. The rain will cool things off a bit.

So where did it all start? Over the holiday weekend, where several Minnesota cities broke heat records, including Duluth!

WDIO Meteorologist Lea Zmurko shared details of the hot day, sharing that Ashland, Duluth and Hibbing all broke major weather records. Duluth broke its previous record high for Mother's Day by four degrees!
International Falls had the warmest day of all, nearly hitting triple digit heat! It's only early May and we haven't even gotten into the hottest part of the summer yet. It seems like it could be our hottest summer in a long time. Buckle in!
