I check facebook several times over a weekend.  This weekend I saw a friend request from an Amy.  I recognized her last name and thought "could it be"?  Sure enough, it was a former student from when I taught Red Cross swimming lessons at the Wrenshall School pool in the late 70's.  I accepted her request for friendship and she sent me two photos that absolutely FLOORED me!

I started out as a locker room attendant in 1978 because I was not a certified Water Safety Instructor yet.  Well, it wasn't long until I was bored with that position and wanted to be where all the action was, in the pool teaching swimming!

So I took the necessary classes with Sue Skinner and soon I had my own classes to teach.  I loved teaching swimming!  Amy was one of my favorites and I still can't believe she's hung on to the swim certificate I signed indicating she passed my class.  (still proud of you, lol).

Thank you for taking the time to look me up, Amy.  You brought back great memories and it's utterly unbelievable that you kept this piece of paper all these years.

What a great feeling!  I made up my mind that I'm going to take Amy's cue and pass it forward.  My goal is to try to reconnect with someone I haven't talked to in years.  I've met so many people that have meant so much to me, they deserve to know they touched my life.

Reach out and make someone smile today!
