Ken and I are often asked to read to kids in a classroom setting.  It's fun for us to visit with the kids and interestingly we sometimes end up reading books that was read to US when we were growing up.  But, we can only cover so many classrooms.  If you volunteer your reading talents with Rolling Readers so many more Northland children will benefit.  Consider giving a bit of your time to the kids

I previously mentioned how if you're a fan of the World War Z book by Max Brooks, you shouldn't give up on the Brad Pitt movie.  Well apparently I was wrong.  The second trailer strays even further from the book, and this looks like a pile of crap.  I hate to say it, because I would have loved to see the actual story of the book made into a movie.  Not this one man saves the day kind of crap. Remember when the bookmobile use to come to your neighborhood?  Ok, well...I don't.  We didn't have that service in the rural area of Wrenshall when I was growing up.  But, I did ride my bike to the Carlton Public Library in the summer, I loved reading!  The Duluth Public Library is starting a service reminiscent of the bookmobile, but will use volunteers delivering to shut-ins.  What a great idea
