This is the perfect season for pumpkin pie and if you buy one today, October 5, at the Coppertop Church in Duluth, you can help stock the local CHUM Food Shelf to help feed local hungry people.

Between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. today over 100 pumpkin pies are expected to be sold at First Methodist Church at 230 E Skyline Parkway (the Coppertop Church).  The pies are being made fresh this morning by students of the College Of St. Scholastica and Professor LeAnn House.

Each pumpkin pie will be sold on $12 and all the profits will be used by CHUM’s Food Shelf to add more food items for hungry people. Any Leftover pies will be frozen and distributed to the families who come to the food shelf at Thanksgiving.

Everyone is invited to stop by today between 1 p.m and 5 p.m. and purchase a pie, which you could freeze for Thanksgiving or, like me, eat right way.
