A local Carlton man, Timothy Soden-Groves, is not only compassionate and giving, he is also insightful.  The weather will soon be colder and the holidays will be upon us.  Many turn to the Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank to keep meals on the table for their families.  Timothy is on a mission to stock the shelves and feed those in need. The bike ride is being called “Velo the Lake 2012 – Ride Against Hunger.” Timothy Soden-Groves will attempt the 1,050 mile, 10 ½ day ride from September 13th to the 23rd with the hope of not only fulfilling a longtime dream of riding around the big lake, but of helping Second Harvest wage their fight against hunger in the process.

“September is Hunger Action Month, and I hope many others will come to my aid to help Second Harvest feed the hungry and raise awareness of hunger in our region,” says Soden-Groves. “It’s incredible what they can do with just a little support from us.” For example, a donation of $10.00 will provide 50 meals to the hungry.

You can follow the progress of Soden-Groves’ ride around Lake Superior, and make donations to Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank, through his website at www.myomusic.com. Soden-Groves will also have detailed accounts and photos of his ride on his blog at velothelake.blogspot.com. Stay healthy, good luck and God Bless, Timothy!
