5 Things You Need For A Cold Outdoor Game

The Minnesota Twins are about to open their first 2018 season series at Target Field in weather that is more suited for football. Needless to say, it's been a could spring and Twins fans can expect continued cooler temps and even snow.

That being said, I'm really jealous of anyone going to these early season games. Whenever I see a historically cold game, or any game that makes history, I want to be there!

I, along with my friend Matt, were at the 2016 Vikings / Seahawks playoff game at TCF Bank Stadium. Just prior to the noon kickoff, the temperature was minus-6 degrees Fahrenheit, and the wind chill was calculated at minus-25. It a nutshell, it was the coldest game in Vikings history and the third-coldest (in wind chill; tied for third in air temp) game in NFL history, and I was there! We knew we were in for a cold game, but as the forecast got colder and colder, I got more excited because I realized I could witness history.

Of course, as you can see from the picture above, we were fully prepared to take on Mother Nature and enjoy the game, Blair Walsh be damned!

Twins fans won't face the extreme conditions fans that Vikings fans did on that day, but it'll still be cold if you're not prepared. From experience, here are 5 things to have on hand.
