A fun and unique way for civilians and members of the military to bond is coming to the Northland, and the goal is to raise both money and awareness.

23rd Veteran, a Duluth area nonprofit organization, will host Duluth’s first annual Nearly Naked Ruck March on Saturday, February 27 at 9:00am. Veterans, military personnel and civilians are invited to hike 4.5 miles with weighted packs along Duluth’s Lakewalk wearing nothing but boots, hats, gloves and long underwear.

This unique experience will raise money for Duluth's 23rd Veteran, a local nonprofit organization, and increase awareness for the very serious issue of veteran suicide, which they say has exceeded 110,000 nationally since 9/11.

23rd Veteran is busy year round with events that have included: climbing, rebuilding a World War II military jeep, retreats to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, hunting and fishing opportunities, and physical fitness activities in the Twin Ports.
