When Is The First Frost Expected In Wisconsin In 2026?

Bring it on! Okay, I am not entirely ready for winter just yet but I do absolutely love that first taste of fall in the air. I am a fall person through and through but that does not mean I am ready for this.

I follow a page on social media called Midwest Weather. The man who runs it is always spot on his with his forecasts and outlooks, even if I am not a fan of what those forecasts and outlooks look like at times. Ha!

I did get a slight shiver down my spine when I saw one of his most recent forecasts: he shared details on when we will likely see our first frost in both Minnesota and Wisconsin, which differ slightly.

Now that August is wrapping up, we know what is coming. We all know that September is when the weather really starts to change for the rest of the year, saying goodbye to summer and hello to cold temperatures.

Midwest Weather Shares First Frost Forecast For Wisconsin

According to Midwest Weather's forecast, the northern half of Wisconsin can expect its first frost between September 15th through the 30th. That includes the Superior area, making it right on par with most of Minnesota.

As for the southern half of the state, they will get to soak in summer for a little bit longer, with the first frost expected between October 1st and 15th. The first frost hitting during spooky season? That is so fitting.

We have had a pretty long, hot summer and all good things must come to an end. Ha! In fact, it has been so hot this summer, I am even more ready for fall than usual. I can't wait for more comfortable temperatures.

However, we all know that fall is short-lived and winter is always lurking around every corner when temperatures do drop come fall. I will probably regret saying all this in a month or two! For now, let's soak in summer while we have it.
