Winter Storm Watch Issued for Strong Storm Moving In at the Beginning of the Week
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for a strong storm that will impact the region from Sunday night to Wednesday morning. The watch itself goes into effect Sunday evening, and remains in effect until Tuesday night.
Impacts from this storm include a possibility of 6-12 inches of snow, gusty wind conditions up to 30 mph at times, and difficult travel conditions. The later parts of this storm will also bring cold temperatures and wind chill values below zero. Parts of NW Wisconsin may also have the threat of mixed precipitation.
Following this winter storm, cold conditions will persist. Daytime high temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday will struggle to get above zero degrees, and Friday single digit daytime highs are expected.
