We live near the lake.  If you're not from around here, that's short for saying we live next to Lake Superior, the largest ice cube in the world.  We have become accustomed to the chillier temperatures near the lake, but what happened on June 4th, 2017 was ridiculous.

We all talked about what we were doing when the weather changed.  The poor folks that went to the Duluth Huskies game arrived in summer clothes, and by the time the game was over needed winter jackets.

I was up North fishing all weekend in the hot, beautiful summer weather.  I was surprised to hear that the weather was the same back in Superior.  My wife told me it was a hot, sunny day, and we should all grill outside that evening.   I stopped for groceries on the top of the hill.  I drove in through West Duluth on I-35 and I could actually see the weather change.  There was a line of heat ripples on the road that were moving away from the lake.  I watched my temperature gauge plummet.

Once again, the Great Lake wins in the battle for some kind of summer before July if you live near the lake.
