I never believed we talked and acted differently here when I was growing up. People like my friends in the south had accents, not us. That all changed the first time I rode an airplane.

I was just out of college and flew to visit my friend in Georgia. He managed a bar/restaurant near Atlanta and when I was hanging with his friends, a couple of girls commented on how much they loved my accent.

I laughed and said "My accent? I don't have an accent! You have accents and I think they're awesome." They laughed with me and then started to imitate how I talked. It was then I realized they were absolutely right. Right then and there I should've made a note to capitalize on this fact and make money with it, just like Charlie Berens has done!

Of course, this was before YouTube, social media, and all the ways we have to connect today. So, I didn't use my newfound knowledge to gain fame and fortune. Instead, I had a shot of Rumple Minze with my very hospitable new friends.

Charlie Berens, on the other hand, has used our Midwest accents much to his advantage and he's brilliant at it. That's why it's not a shock that his 'Midwest Siri' video has gone viral.

Take a few minutes out of your day right now to enjoy a great and very relatable laugh!

Charlie Berens was in Duluth just last year on his critically acclaimed Midwest Survival Guide Tour. A few of my friends were lucky enough to meet him after the show when stopped made a random stop at Roscoe's Pioneer Bar in downtown Duluth.

Hopefully, he'll find his way back to the Twin Ports in 2023, but for now, we at least have his hilarious videos.
