Three Walmart locations in the Northland are changing up their hours. The three stores include those in Superior, Hermantown and Cloquet.

All three stores announced the new hours on their respective Facebook pages Thursday (August 13th). Back in March, Walmart stores announced they would be reducing store hours nationwide amid the pandemic, closing early to give staff a chance to clean and sanitize while also stocking shelves.

Here's what you need to know regarding each store and its new hours:

  • The Walmart stores in Superior and Hermantown will be extending their hours, operating from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. The stores will continue to have "senior" hours on Tuesday and Thursday, which will be from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m.
  • The Walmart location in Cloquet will now operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. most weekdays with the exception of Tuesdays. On Tuesdays, store hours will be 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

These new store hours will go into effect on Saturday, August 15th. Masks are required in each location.

This isn't the only major change hitting Walmart stores. This year, stores nationwide will be closed on Thanksgiving. This is a big day for retailers, as eager shoppers head to big name stores to get special holiday deals and pricing. When they announced the news in July, they said they wanted their employees to enjoy time at home with their family after a trying year.
