Video Of Duluth Schnauzer Goes Viral After It Defends Home From Black Bear
A 12-year-old schnauzer has become a star on the internet after he stands his ground in the face of a black bear. USA Today posted the video to its Twitter and YouTube channel showing the dog from Duluth, Minnesota defending his home.
The bear must have been roaming around for a bit because the owner had time to get her phone out and take a video. She told Liebs, the schnauzer that the bear was coming. That's when the Schnauzer ran up to the sliding glass door and barked his little head off. Sure there's a piece of glass in the way, but that dog has no fear.
Dog lovers and schnauzer lovers specifically commented on YouTube explaining that schnauzers are fierce protectors of their families. I've known some schnauzer dogs, and I can say that they are one of a kind breed.
The dog did take a step back though when the black bear got on his hind legs and pressed on the glass. Glad that glass held, or this could have had a much worse outcome.

This black bear will likely be heading to his den soon for winter hibernation. The black bears in Minnesota enter their dens in September and October after loading up on food for the long winter nap.
