With all this talk about a storm dropping 3 to 99 inches of snow in the Northland (I may be exaggerating), let's not forget that the UMD Men's Hockey team is on a mission in Buffalo.

The UMD Bulldogs will look to defend their National Championship when they battle the Providence Friars on Thursday.  The game starts at 4:00 p.m. CST and will be televised on ESPN2.

It should be a close game considering the Providence Friars are ranked ninth in scoring, averaging 3.22 goals per game and the Bulldogs are ranked 11th, scoring 3.15 goals per game.  Defensively, each team allows an average of 1.95 goals per game.  Obviously, somethings gotta give.

Should the Bulldogs prevail Thursday, they will then play the winner of Thursday night's showdown between Denver and UMass.

The NCAA Men's Hockey National Championship game will be played at 7:00 p.m. CST on Saturday night, with television coverage again available on ESPN2.

Go Bulldogs!
