There was a bit of controversy in Two Harbors last month when a parent complained to the school about an R-rated movie being shown in class.  The movie was the 1985 drama 'The Breakfast Club,' and there was a permission slip sent home for parents to sign.  The parent was concerned that the movie showed drug use, profanity, and sexual content.

We now know that it was being shown to a psychology class that had students ranging in ages from 16-18 years old.  It's also not just Two Harbors that shows this movie, but other classes in other cities also use this movie as a discussion point for students.

According to the Duluth News Tribune, the school officials saw no harm in showing the movie to students, and that the parental permission process was followed correctly.
