The Minnesota Twins have raced to the top of the A.L. Central Division and are on a record home run pace.  A big reason why is a red-hot Max Kepler.

Major League Baseball has taken notice and has named 26 year-old Max Kepler the American League Player Of The Week.  According to

Kepler led the Majors in all three slash line categories during the week, with a .571 batting average, .600 on-base percentage and 1.190 slugging percentage, giving him an MLB-best 1.790 OPS

The Twins right fielder also hit three home runs, led the Major League Baseball with 10 runs scored and tied for the Major League lead with 10 RBIs.

Kepler remained hot Tuesday night against the Milwaukee Brewers.  In the Twins 5-3 victory, he went 1-4 with a double that drove in two runs.

The Minnesota Twins have a travel day May 29 before opening a 3-game weekend series at Tampa Bay.  The Rays are also having a great start to their season, so this series will be a great test for Minnesota.
