The Twin Ports Interchange Project has been going on for a few hundred years at this point, but the good news is it's starting to come together. For the LONGEST time, we had detours to get to the base of the Blatnik Bridge to get over to Superior, or we had to use Garfield Avenue to get into Duluth.

That all changed later this summer when they opened up the exits from I-35 to the Blatnik Bridge. Finally, it was becoming more accessible. This last weekend, they connected the bridge to the main Highway 53. Things are starting to come together!

One thing that puzzles me is how many people get confused about going southbound on Interstate 35 while going through the Twin Ports Interchange. I'll be following a car, and they'll get into the right lane like they are going to take the Wisconsin exit. Then, a minute later, they'll go back in the left lane, and then at the last second, veer all the way to the exit, nearly missing it.

It happens all the time. It's so frequent that I won't pull up next to a car out of fear they'll go sideswipe me in the last few seconds as they realize they are missing the exit.

What's so confusing about this? It could be because it's down to one lane of traffic both ways, and the right lane goes to the exit. Whatever the reason is, it's tricking people. Watch out for people cutting you off, and give them space until this project is completely done.
