Trisha Yearwood approached the making of Every Girl, her first album of fresh country material in over a decade, the old-fashioned way, visiting with Nashville songwriters and publishers to pick the best material possible. Yet finding the ideal duet partner for her lovestruck new song "What Gave Me Away" didn't require leaving the house: She sings it with her husband and frequent collaborator, Garth Brooks.

“The song describes such an intimate moment between two people,” Yearwood tells People of "What Gave Me Away," which readers can hear above. “I couldn’t imagine asking anyone else to sing on this song except Garth. He’s my person. He’s my crush.”

A song about new love, sung by a couple nearing their 14th wedding anniversary, "What Gave Me Away" isn't the only duet on Every Girl. Yearwood covers Ashley McBryde's "Bible and a .44" with Patty Loveless, and "Tell Me Something I Don't Know" features fellow daytime television personality and singer Kelly Clarkson. A fourth team-up, for the song "Love You Anyway," reunites Yearwood with Don Henley, her singing partner on the 1992 single "Walkaway Joe."

“Making this album reminded me of making my first album in 1991 — a freeing feeling of just getting to be creative and not worrying about anything beyond just taking care of the music, finding the right songs and having fun in the studio,” Yearwood told People in May. “No pressure. When I listen to the album, I hear the joy in my voice. It’s a great feeling to know you’ve done your best. Now, I float it out to the world. This is me!”

Every Girl arrives on Aug. 30. Following the album's release, Yearwood will launch her Every Girl on Tour in the fall of 2019.
