The Office

I am an office super fan.  No really, I belong to a Facebook group called Office Super Fans.  I'm not ashamed to say that 'The Office' was my favorite TV show of all time.  I've watched it at least a half a dozen times from start to finish on Netflix.  It occurred to me today as I was watching it, that one specific episode encapsulates everything that made this show so special.

John Krasinski recently appeared on the cover of Men's Health magazine all buffed out with muscle.  He definitely has a more serious look, no smiles, and doesn't appear to be the good ol Jim Halpert on 'The Office.'  He bulked up to play an ex US Navy Seal in the real life story of the Benghazi attack.  The movie is called 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.

Last year, the Ohio State University Band gave football fans one hell of a movie tribute, marching along to formations of everything from 'Superman' to 'Jurassic Park,' so what was the one way to top it? TV! See what "the best damn band in the land" came up with for everything from 'Game of Thrones' to 'Dragnet,' with the full TVLand TV tribute!

Finally! We'd all-but given up hope that 'The Office' vet and 'Hot Tub Time Machine' franchise star Craig Robinson would land back on NBC for his eagerly-anticipated new sitcom, especially after NBC left the series off the most recent development slate, but it seems 'Mr. Robinson' will finally move forward with a series order, and a few new tweaks.

Today Cathy and I smelled something a little smoky and looked around for where it was coming from.   Turns out it was nothing, but it reminded me of this hilarious scene from The Office.   I had Cathy watch it for the first time, and she loved it.

Last night was tough, as I expected it would be.  The show itself was described in the special that aired before as a "living thing."  It certainly did take a life of it's own, and it felt like we were putting it down.  But we all knew it had to go, and the writers met most of my expectations that I was hoping for.  SPOILER ALERT

I've talked about how The Office has run it's course last year, and about how the show needed to be wrapped up.  Let me just say that "The Office" is my favorite TV show and I've loved every season of it.  It is the only show that weekly has made me laugh out loud.  And tomorrow, we say goodbye.  It's going to be tough, but here's what I'd like to see.

While everyone has their own opinion of the direction NBC's 'The Office' has taken in the years without Steve Carell, as the series approaches its final swan song most would agree any finale would feel incomplete without Carell's character Michael Scott returning for one final "that's what she said." I've become a fan of the ABC show "Nashville."  It's one of the best dramas on TV and has some pretty good music as well.  For the first couple of weeks, a few of the characters seemed awful familiar.  Here's where you may have seen them.

This really saddens me, but I can't live in denial any longer.  I think it's time we say goodbye to the office, much like a loving dog owner who has to put their old, sick, dying dog down.  The thought of even doing it gives you a heavy heart.  Sure we've had a lot of good years and laughs, but slowly we seem to just be limping along together.

We still don't know who's going to be the new boss on 'The Office' but could Michael Scott's sense of humor be replaced by a computer program? Chloé Kiddon and Yuriy Brun, two computer scientists at the University of Washington, have developed software that identifies the best sentences to attach the classic amendment "That's what she said."

Tonight is the last episode for Steve Carell in "The Office."  Relatively unknown before the hit TV show, Carell has become a star and it's time for him to move onto bigger projects.  From what I've read and heard, Steve was a great guy to have on the set and a wonderful person to work with.  I will certainly miss seeing him on the office.  His character Michael Scott was the engineer on
