Thousands of runners and spectators are expected descend upon the City of Duluth and surrounding areas  this weekend.  Being on time for the events, whether it be racing, meeting the family for the spaghetti dinner or gathering to enjoy the entertainment under the Big Top Tent, getting there and finding parking will need to be factored into your travel.  Here is VERY helpful information to get you

I know, it's hard enough to remember which side of the street you should be parked on.  Most of us rely on trusting our neighbors (most we've never met) to be on top of it and we just follow their lead.  Due to the recent snow accumulation posing significant challenges the Duluth Police Department will be enforcing the parking ordinance and issuing tickets for those that don't comply.

Get ready, they're coming! UPDATE:  Now that the City of Duluth have the trial parking pay stations along the one-block stretch of 300 West Superior Street.  They are looking for your feedback.

You may have already experienced automated technology in our city.  I have used them several times in the Canal Park district. (and yes, you can still get a parking ticket if you don't pay....someone told me that, lol).  I have to admit, the street looks cleaner without the parking meters.  Now, they're going to try it in downtown Duluth.  What do you think of the new technology?

My co-host Ken and I just talked about the fact that my husband and I had gotten a parking ticket which HE forgot to pay.  We received a second notice, I got after him and it was paid immediately.  If you have one (or more) that you've been putting off paying, you may want to "git r' done" before the fine increases.

Grandma's Marathon draws thousands of visitors to Duluth each summer, and all of those thousands of people need a place to park. In addition to the traditional places offered for parking, the City of Duluth has announced they will offer more options to residents and visitors participating or watching the race.

Grandma's Marathon is the busiest weekend in Duluth every year, and traffic and parking can become a challenge.  Here is some helpful information on parking, so you know where you're going before you get there!

Changes will be coming to the parking situation in Downtown Duluth and you have an opportunity to learn all about them at a special meeting next Thursday.

Do you work downtown Duluth?  If you drive and need to park your car, you should take the Greater Downtown Council's Parking Survey.   Do it now, it's quick and they would like the info by close of business today.

Forgetting where you parked your car always gives you a sinking feeling. However, it may have been for the best that this German man lost track of where he'd left his vehicle in December of 2010...

If you work downtown Duluth and park in the East Superior Ramp, you need to read this blog.  The construction is slated to begin Monday, October 8 and last a little over a week for the repair, then another week for cleaning. It will still be open, but there won't be as many spaces available.  Be prepared to find another place to park until the construction is over.  Here's the skinny.
