One thing that always sparks a smile is children and when those children are entertaining with amazing voices it's even better.  Get ready to smile because a group of children will be traveling to Superior for a special concert designed to help Africa's most vulnerable children.

Nothing short of amazing!  It was another steady line of satisfied St. Jude donors at the Four Season's Sports Complex in Carlton again this year.  After a record breaking year last year we thought we had planned accurately for this year, but the number just keeps growing!!!   YOU make such an incredible difference!

You’re invited to enjoy JJ’s famous Family Tradition pancakes with Harold’s Flapjack Fiasco THIS SUNDAY!!!  It's the 7th year that Harold, Kevin and their crew will be serving up a delicious breakfast to raise money for families with ill children and the continued research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

What an exciting year for the friends and family of Harold Ankrum and the communities of Carlton County.  I had the honor of presenting Harold with an award from the kids of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital this week. Every summer Harold, his family and his fabulous group of volunteers pour their heart and soul into three events that many in the community enjoy year after year.

Tracy Jacobsen came out of retirement in 2008 to make bread and share recipes to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.     He made the decision to give back to organizations that have helped him continue to thrive in his life's passion, food and cooking, despite obstacles.

It's a weekend of fundraising for two of the athletic teams of Denfeld High School.  The coolest thing is the both are continuing traditions.  The DHS boys hockey team is supporting the Salvation Army's Adopt-A-Family program and the cheer team will be making another appearance at the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl in Florida.

The Wabegon Bar & Grill has a customer appreciation party every year and this year they decided to make it count for the kids of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  The owner, Paul had tried to do a pasta feed to raise money in the past, but the flood of 2012 cancelled that event.  This first year event was well received and raised a lot of money.

  Last weekend was the Bayfield Apple Festival.  Many people go to view the fall colors with the apple festival the final destination.  If you couldn't make the trip this year, the Duluth Lion's Club has you covered.  Crisp, cool, Cortland apples.  Good for baking, eating, sharing and benefiting the community!  It's the 19th Annual Duluth Lions Club Apple Harvest Sale and you're missing out if you

Darren Danielson of WDIO and I were blessed to be involved as co-chairs in the 9th Annual UDAC fundraiser "walk a mile in our shoes" event last Saturday.  It was a glorious morning for an event that is so well received in the community.  It was held at Malosky Stadium on the UMD Campus and several of the Bulldog's athletic teams and the UMD Marching Band were on hand to lend their suppor

It was a perfect ending to another wonderful Harold's Fiasco season of raising money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  The trifecta of Harold's Fiascoes, the Flippin' Flapjack Fiasco, the Golf Fiasco and the Hog Roastin' Fiasco raised more money than ever before.  THANK YOU!
