Superior School District To Hold Forum On School Safety Wednesday March 28th
Students were given flyers to bring home inviting elementary students' parents to attend a forum on public safety. This comes after the school shooting in Parkland, Florida. The forum will talk about what safety measures are in place and future plans within the Superior School District.
The event will happen on Wednesday, March 28th from 5:30-6:30 in the Northern Lights Elementary School Gym. It is described as an "informal school crisis awareness forum."
The goal of the meeting is to educate parents more about elementary school safety and how to help keep all students safe.
It is sponsored in part by the Superior Police Department, Superior Elementary Schools, and the Wisconsin PTA Board of Directors.
The Superior School District also has shared their safety measures and protocol on their website. The school district has all doors locked during school hours, practice safety drills, work with 3 police school liaison officers, and are in the process of implementing dual entry systems.
