You will soon find a new exhibit at the Main Library in Duluth that young will enjoy and will allow the not-so-young to return to their childhood.  The Duluth Public Library, along with the Duluth Children’s Museum, is excited to announce  Storyland: A Trip Through Childhood Favorites. (Volunteers are needed to help with the exhibit, see below).

The hands-on exhibit will open this Saturday, October 6, and will involve three popular picture books.  The Tale of Peter Rabbit, The Snowy Day and Where's Spot?  Kids of all ages, along with their families will discover that it is never too early to develop a love of reading and that literacy development truly begins in infancy.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The Duluth Public Library is recruiting Storyland Specialists to volunteer in the exhibit.  As a Storyland Specialist you will welcome and engage visitors in the exhibit space, helping to ensure that families and children have a fun and playful experience. Volunteers are asked to commit a minimum of 20 hours between Friday, October 5 and Sunday, January 20. Benefits of volunteering include a Family Day Pass to the Duluth Children’s Museum for every 10 hours of volunteer service and 30 percent off anything in the Duluth Children’s Museum Gift Shop.

Sound like fun?  It is!  If you want more information, or would like to apply to be a Storyland Specialist, please contact Cheryl Skafte, Volunteer Coordinator, City of Duluth, at 218-730-4334.
