Starting Today, Glasses Are No Longer Allowed In Passport Photos
Beginning today, November 1, 2016, if you're planning on getting a passport, or a U.S. visa, plan on taking off your glasses for the photo as there is a new policy in effect.
The U.S. Department Of State says that last year, more than 200,000 U.S. passport customers submitted poor quality photos which were unacceptable and the #1 problem was glasses. This caused processing delays, which is a big inconvenience for everyone.
If you already own a passport or visa and you're wearing glasses in the picture, no need to worry. You'll just need to take a photo without glasses when it comes time to renew.
