St. Louis County Dedicates James ‘Ding’ Holter Bridge

St. Louis County Public Works honored one of their own recently with a bridge dedication.   The recently reconstructed bridge that spans the Black Duck River in Camp Five Township was recently given an honorary name:  the James "Ding" Holter Memorial Bridge. The family was given the opportunity to unveil the sign that will now grace the bridge.  Camp Five Township is located in northwestern St. Louis County.

Holter was an employee for St. Louis County - specifically in the Public Works Department - for 39 years; 28 of those years saw Holter serving in the role of Highway Maintenance Supervisor.  Holter passed away in 2017 just a little under four years after retiring from the county.

The designation came at the request of Camp Five Township; Holter was a longtime resident. St. Louis County agreed that the reconstructed bridge would be a great way to honor both the longtime resident and the longtime employee.  The St. Louis County Board passed its approval at a meeting last fall.
