Pot Garden

With the warmer weather (and NO SNOW), we can now start thinking about those starter plants.  My friend Jackie has her tomatoes and strawberry plants already started in a cute little greenhouse on her deck.  Inside her home she has fresh herbs that will be replanted and moved outside eventually.  I am in awe of her gardening knowledge!  If you are seeking that same knowledge, these classes with the UW-Extension Horticulture is for you.

Clear your schedule for Wednesday , May 15, at 6:00 pm for the first in a series of hands on gardening presentations. It will be held at the Peter Rich Center at 1201 N 8th Street, Superior, WI.  "Gardening is an important activity for fresh food production, healthy outdoor activity, and a life skill for all ages. These classes aim to bring increased success to the home and community gardener in 2013."

The class will take place in the various community gardens in Superior. The topics and locations will be posted prior to each session at the Douglas County Website.

Classes will start with preparing your soil and selecting your cool season vegetables. Then, a demonstration on the use of a container garden to add another space to the home garden.  Contact UW-Extension with questions and to register at 715-395-1363.
