No, this is not an April Fools' joke! If you live in the Northland, you know we saw yet another snowstorm this week. We may have another one coming this weekend too - but I am not going to get into that.

A snow system moved in Thursday (April 2nd) into the early hours of Friday. At the time of writing, things have started to taper off and calm a bit before another expected round of snow tonight.

We really can't catch a break. The good news is that the first storm didn't leave us with a ton of snow but it was enough to make for some tricky travel conditions. It looks like this second round of snow will be much worse.

So how much snow did we get with the first round? Let's take a look at snow totals across the Northland as we brace ourself for round two. Ha!

Snow Totals Across The Northland April 2nd & 3rd

When I woke up this morning, most of the snow had already stopped but some fell into the wee hours of the morning, adding just a bit to our snow totals across northern Minnesota. Let's take a look.

These totals are courtesy of the National Weather Service, who shared reported snowfall totals across the entire state.

Palmers: 8.2 inches

Fon Du Lac: 7.7 inches

Holyoke: 7.3 inches

Lester Park: 6.7 inches

Duluth: 6.2 inches

Cloquet: 6.1 inches

Knife River: 5 inches

Two Harbors: 4.7 inches

Solon Springs: 4.3 inches

Island Lake: 4.2 inches

Superior: 4.2 inches

Moose Lake: 4 inches

I know anything can happen in April and it's not uncommon to see snow but we had such hope when we had those few warm days in March. I got way too excited. Hopefully, it will actually feel like spring soon.
