Spirit Mountain is hosting a free family event to introduce people of all ages to the sport of mountain biking.  The three part series was developed as a way to bring families together and also to spend that time outdoors.

The series will teach and encourage kids that are new to mountain biking or are familiar with the sport new techniques and also trail awareness.  The series is great as it's a virtually cost free way to get the kids out of the house and active.

The first of the three has already happened but the next two dates are Tuesday, July 23rd, and Tuesday, August 6th.  5:00PM is the time to arrive both evenings for socializing and a bike maintenance demonstration, at 6:00PM the kids will be grouped according to skill levels and will receive instruction, and from 7:00-8:00PM the group ride will happen.

New for this year, there will be a limited number of youth bikes available courtesy of the YMCA providing access to their bike fleet.  You need to RSVP for the event and make sure you include if you will need to borrow a bike.  You can RSVP and get more information here. The events take place at the Spirit Mountain Grand Avenue Chalet located at 8551 Grand Avenue in Duluth, MN.
