Salmonella Outbreak Hits Wisconsin And Minnesota
Wisconsin and Minnesota are the latest states to be hit with salmonella.
A press release sent out by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services confirms that four people have been sickened by the bacteria, with three people sick in Wisconsin and one in Minnesota.
Health officials say Del Monte vegetable trays are to blame. These trays include broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and a dill sauce for dipping.
The press release states that the infected veggie trays were purchased from a Kwik Trip in Minnesota or Wisconsin, with consumers reportedly feeling sick in mid to late April.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services assures everyone that Kwik Trip stores have already removed all Del Monte vegetable trays from their shelves.
A similar situation occurred in July of 2018, after 200 people across the midwest reported getting violently ill from Del Monte vegetable trays.
Salmonella symptoms include diarrhea, cramps and fever. Symptoms can creep up two weeks after exposure and usually resolve in five to seven days.
