You can never have too many places to shop! Although Duluth and the surrounding area has a bunch of great places to buy clothes, it is always exciting when we get another one to add to the list.

I went to a clothing store chain in the Twin Cities recently and while checking out, the cashier and I got to talking. I told her I was in town from Duluth and that is when she told me that the store was going to be opening in our area at some point in the near future.

While she didn't give more details, she did say that it was in the works and had been for awhile. She also said that Duluth had been on the store's radar for quite some time.

Of course, with anything, you have to take things like this with a grain of salt but I don't see why the employee would say it was in the works if it wasn't. Plus, the store in question definitely fits the vibe of Duluth.

So which store am I talking about? Boot Barn! Boot Barn is a store that can be found nationwide, including in Minnesota. There are several locations in Minnesota, including a store at the Mall of America, St. Cloud and Fridley. There are a handful of locations in Wisconsin as well.

The store sells boots, hence the name. They sell a lot more than just that though, specializing in western wear. They have jeans, clothing for men and women, socks, shoes, hats and accessories.

Like I said, you have to take these things with a grain of salt. You never know what is or what isn't happening and what is hearsay. However, I think Boot Barn would fit in nicely in Duluth and the employee I spoke to seemed pretty confident it was a little more than a rumor.

Sometimes these things take awhile to pan out. In fact, I had a similar encounter with an employee at Chick-fil-A a few years ago. He told me at the time that the company was looking to put a location in Duluth in the future. This was back in 2018 and this still hasn't materialized but I am not losing hope!

Since we are on the topic of fast food restaurants, The Development Tracker of Duluth shared back in March of this year that a Raising Cane's restaurant may be arriving to the area soon. In case you don't know, Raising Cane's sells chicken fingers and only chicken fingers, along with fries and toast.

A Popeye's was also supposed to open in Duluth soon but as of July, this was up in the air. The fast food chain was going to open in a new development across from Cub Foods on Central Entrance. It looks like things hit a snag and as of now, we may or may not be getting the new location.

Fingers crossed we get one of these four spots sometime in the near future, whether Boot Barn or a new fast food chain!
