Old Farmer’s Almanac Lays Out April Forecast For Duluth / Superior
I don't want to jinx anything but it does seem like spring is ultimately here in the Twin Ports. Ha! The March to April transition can bring about snow or mild conditions. It can still be very wintry or it can usher in the beginning of spring.
To see what we could expect this time around, I turned to the Old Farmer's Almanac. They always make long-term weather predictions by region and while not everyone believes in their methodology, I always like to take a look at that their forecasts.
So what is the Old Farmer's Almanac predicting for April? To kick things off, the Old Farmer's Almanac says it will be a cool and wet start to the month, with showers likely from the first of the month through the fifth.
From April sixth through the ninth, we can expect sunshine and warmth, which definitely screams spring! From the following day through mid-month, we will see rainy periods along with cool temperatures.
Sunshine will return by April seventeenth, according to the Old Farmer's Almanac. Temperatures will remain on the cool side. From April twenty-third through the end of the month, we will see rain and snow mix with sunshine and cold temperatures rounding out the last few days.
One more thing to note: the Old Farmer's Almanac says we can expect an average temperature a few degrees above average. We will take it!
Recently, the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center released their forecast through the first week of April. It doesn't line up entirely with the Old Farmer's Almanac so we will have to wait and see what happens.
