New ‘Aldi’ Store Coming To Cloquet This Year

The grocery store best known for their giant discounts is set to open at the end of the year.

According to the Duluth News Tribune, the new store will be located west of Perkins on Big Lake Road. It will face big competition with a Super One foods directly across the street.

The city is planning on beginning construction come Spring and is set to open in December.

This isn't a first for the Northland. Aldi first moved to the area in 2015, when a store opened in Superior. Another one followed in October 2017 in Duluth.

In June of last year, it was announced the chain would open nearly 1,000 new stores across the country within five years.

That is on top of the 1,600 stores they have in 35 states, according to their website. They pride themselves on saving customers money with a 'simple, cost-effective' approach.
