Need A Job? Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank Is Hiring An Accountant

I can't count how many times I've had friends and acquaintances tell me that they are in need of a job and to keep my eyes and ears open for them.  When I got the email about this job I thought I would share and perhaps it can help someone have a more comfortable Christmas!  Before you think it isn't for you, read on!

The job pays very well anywhere from $19.30 - $28.95, I'd love to make that much!  You'd be working for the Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank.  They are a non-profit organization whose mission statement is:   "to feed Northeastern Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin’s hungry by rescuing and distributing food and engaging our region in the fight against hunger."  What a great feeling to know that you are joining a team that is helping others in need.

They are looking for an experienced, detail oriented staff Accountant which is a newly created position. Your duties would be responsible for day-to-day management and oversight of the Food Bank's financial transactions including but not limited to accounts payable, receivable and payroll. Hours are flexible, on average 20-25 Hours Per Week.

You would need the following qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in accounting or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of non-profit finance; interest in hunger issues or related social services
Strong organization skills and an attention to detail.
Computer proficiency including familiarity with Microsoft Office 2010.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; position requires regional travel.

They would prefer that you also had knowledge of, or experience in, the finance/accounting industry.
