Morgan Wallen Drops New Song Penned By Former Duluthian
It's here! Morgan Wallen has officially dropped his double album and we couldn't be more excited.
To make this even more exciting, the album has a song written by a Duluth native! We write about him all the time, as he is a former Duluthian turned hit Nashville songwriter. Now, he has a cut on what is sure to be one of the year's top albums.
The songwriter in question is Jordan Schmidt. He wrote a song with Morgan himself and it is definitely a standout on the album. I can't type out the title of the song here as it contains a bad word or two. Ha!
The song is officially out in the world and you can hear it below! Disclaimer: as mentioned above, the song contains explicit language so proceed with caution and note this fact before listening.
The country star first announced news of his double album after his big CMA win last year for Best New Artist. Shortly after, he dropped the track list. That is when we learned the album had a cut from our Northland native.
This is not Jordan Schmidt's first rodeo, either. He is responsible for some of the biggest hits in country music over the past few years. In 2020 alone, he won an ACM Award for his work on Blake Shelton's monster hit God's Country. I don't see this hot streak ending anytime soon which is fine with me - we love having Duluth represented in country music!
