Morgan Wallen is one of the biggest stars in country music right now and that makes this even sweeter: a Duluth native is featured on his upcoming new album.

You probably recognize the Duluth native by name at this point, since he has written so many hits for country stars. The Duluthian is Jordan Schmidt, who hails from the Northland and now has made a huge name for himself as a major songwriter in Nashville.

His hot streak will likely continue when Morgan Wallen drops his new album Dangerous early next year. The country star shared the track listing for the new album in mid-November and as mentioned, it features a song he penned with Twin Ports native Jordan Schmidt and another songwriter named Chase McGill.

The song has a title that is not safe to type here, as it contains two swear words right after each other. Ha! I am going to play it safe but you can see the title track here. Judging by the title, it is pretty easy to tell that it will be an upbeat country song with a rocking beat. I am sure the lyrics will be clever, too!

We can hear the song in full when the new album drops on January 8th of 2021. The fact that a songwriter from Duluth had a hand in it is awesome enough but that's not all: the album is also a double album, in case you didn't know. That means we can expect thirty songs come early next year! We can't wait.

This will be another major accomplishment for Jordan Schmidt, who snagged an ACM Award for Single of the Year earlier this year for penning Blake Shelton's massive hit God's Country. It seems everything he touches turns to gold and we think it's awesome he is representing Duluth from Nashville!
