The staff at Mont Du Lac have been working hard to help out mother nature by making snow the last few weeks to get their 9 runs up and running as soon as possible. Mike O’Hara, Operations Manager at Mont Du Lac said to FOX21 “We want to see the teens, anything under 25 is really good for us to make snow we can make snow into a little bit above freezing if the humidity and all the other factors are good but we like to see double digits.”

Mont Du Lac first opened back in 1948 and since then has grown into a year-round resort for fun.  One feature besides the ski and snowboard runs is their Outta Bounds Tubing Park. This unique tubing park is one of a kind as the tubing trails careen throughout the woods for high-speed thrills! The tubing park also has a Flying Carpet Conveyor, MSnow technology, 500-Foot tubing lanes, Two Custom Snowtubing Lanes through the woods, Four-Speed Slide Lanes, Two Children’s Lanes, Music and Light show and Custom Tubes.

For skiers and snowboarders, Mont Du Lac has 9 different runs for all skill levels. Plus they offer lessons including an after-school program that runs Monday-Friday, 4 PM-8 PM. This is a great way to enjoy our long winters in the Northland and this is a perfect sport to start your kids off at an early age. Not to say that you can't start skiing or snowboarding at an older age, of course you can but the sooner kids learn when they are fearless and learn the right techniques and safety the better.
