A quick, two-and-a-half week project to remove trees along a stretch of Highway 169 gets underway on Monday, March 15.  Officials with the Minnesota Department of Transportation are alerting drivers that they'll have a work crew on site on Highway 169 in Itasca County - from Fayette Road to County Road 561.

The tree clearing work is being done in preparation for a round of intersection improvements in Marble, Calumet, and Pengilly that will happen later this year - starting in May.  Click here to get more details about this upcoming summer road project - with all of the details available on the MNDOT website.  All of the trees being cleared during this work are located within the right of way maintained by the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

According to the timeline released by the Minnesota Department, their agency anticipates that this work will be completed during a two-and-a-half week stretch - beginning March 15 and ending by March 31.  However - similar to any road construction work - the timeline could shift depending on a variety of factors - including unforeseen situations that arise and the weather.
