Minnesota’s Viral Singing Surgeons Perform On The ‘Ellen’ Show
From the Mayo Clinic to the star-studded streets of Hollywood - the two singing surgeons who recently went viral for their inspirational video have officially taken over the world and we are just fine with it.
Their next step in world domination? The 'Ellen' Show of course! They sat down with the host Tuesday afternoon and talked about the love their patients have for the program, what made them post the video in the first place and their shared passion for music.
In case you missed it, two Orthopedic residents became overnight sensations last month when they posted a cover of Mike Yung's 'Alright.' It was a short video where one doctor sang and the other accompanied him on the piano.
The surgeons are Dr. Elvis Francois and Dr. William Robinson. Francois leads with vocals and Robinson plays the piano. A third orthopedic resident filmed the video for them.
They made Minnesotans everywhere proud with the soulful rendition of the song. Their take is just about a minute long without gimmicks.
The cover first hit the web when Francois, the singer here, posted the clip to his Facebook page along with an inspirational message. It said, "As health care providers we often meet people at their greatest time of need....and sometimes the best gift you can give is a simple reminder that everything will be alright...."
He also gave his mentor, a now-retired surgeon, a shout out and ended the letter by writing three simple words: music is medicine. This is something they also talked about with the comedienne during their four-minute chat.
To this day, the video has nearly 2.5 million views and counting. Check out their daytime interview and performance above.
