By the time it was officially announced Monday, everyone already knew that Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Karl-Anthony Towns was going to win the NBA Rookie Of The Year award.  That doesn't take a thing away from the honor, especially since he was the unanimous choice.

According to StarTribune.com, Towns joins Damian Lillard, Blake Griffin, David Robinson and Ralph Sampson as the only unanimous NBA Rookies of the Year in the past 32 years. Also, with Andrew Wiggins winning the honor last year, the Wolves are the first franchise with back-to-back rookies of the year since 1972-73.

With a team full of promising young talent, another lottery pick in this year's draft, and new coach Tom Thibodeau's proven track record of success, things are finally looking up for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
