Minnesota Twins to Retire Joe Mauer’s Number 7 on June 15
The Minnesota Twins will honor one of their all-time greats this season as they retire Joe Mauer's uniform number 7 and create a fun Joe Mauer bobblehead series for fans.
The Twins have announced that Joe Mauer’s number will be retired in a pregame ceremony at Target Field on “Joe Mauer Day,” Saturday, June 15. In addition, the first 20,000 fans in attendance at Target Field that day will receive a special, #7 baseball cap. The Twins play division rival Kansas City at 6:10 p.m. and more details on the ceremony will be released soon.
The Twins are also honoring Joe in 2019 with a special "Bobblehead Four-Pack". This is a series of Joe Mauer bobbleheads that celebrate his path to stardom starting as a local prep star and becoming an American League Most Valuable Player and franchise icon.
The "Mauer Bobblehead Four Pack" will distribute the collectors items over four regular season games, scheduled on May 24, July 19, August 24 and September 7. The first 10,000 fans through the gates on those dates will get a bobblehead.
If you purchase the "Mauer Bobblehead Four Pack", you must still be one of the first 10,000 people through the gate to get a bobblehead at each game, but you will be guaranteed an exclusive fifth statuette depicting Joe’s improbable, behind-the-net catch on June 10, 2010.
Tickets for the Joe Mauer bobble head package go on sale Thursday, January 17, at 10:00 a.m.
