Minnesota Twins Announce Target Field Enhancements for 2019
The Minnesota Twins have announced that construction has begun at Target Field to reconfigure Gate 34 in time for the 2019 Major League Baseball Season.
According to the Twins, the new design will enhance ingress and egress while creating a new must-visit destination for fans inside the revised gate line:
The revised Gate 34 design results in the addition of more than 9,300 square feet of new space inside the ballpark. Included in that space will be approximately 5,600 square feet of turf, making it an inviting destination for fan activities before, during and after Target Field events. Seating, stand up tables, lawn games, and additional activations will provide fans with flexible options and enhanced mobility around the plaza, and will also be an alternative area for kids to play in a friendly setting.
The enhancements will also provide two additional entry points into the Gate 34 to help reduce crowd congestion outside the gate. Canopies will also be added to the area to provide approximately 2,800 square feet of shade and shelter from the elements.
The Minnesota Twins open the 2019 season March 28 at Target Field against the Cleveland Indians.
