Minnesota State Fair Breaks Attendance Record First Two Days
The Minnesota State Fair is in full swing and doesn't show any signs of slowing down any time soon.
The fair officially kicked off on Thursday, August 22nd and if attendance numbers are any indication, it is going to be a big year for the event. Two records have already been broken!
According to the website, attendance on opening day peaked around 133,000. The all-time record was about 123,000. That was set last year.
The second record was set the following day - Friday, August 23rd. Attendance was 157,000 that day, which was well over the 2016 record of 141,000.
No records were set Saturday, August 24th or Sunday, August 25th. I am excited to see how many other fair days see record attendance!
I can't say I am surprised. We have been spoiled with amazing weather plus a ton of new food and beverage items this time around. (Hello, cotton candy cream ale!)
It's not named one of the best fairs in the world for nothing.
