Minnesota DNR to Host Outdoors Workshop for Women
The Minnesota DNR is hosting a workshop in Sandstone in January that will give women of the Northland the opportunity to learn new outdoor skills together.
Per the Department of Natural Resources, the winter workshop is the weekend of Friday, January 26 - Sunday, January 28 at the Audubon Center of the North Woods in Sandstone. This is part of the DNR's Becoming an Outdoors Woman Program.
The weekend will have activities and classes focusing on several ways to enjoy the outdoors, including sled dog mushing, dark house fishing, birding and archery hunting.
The archery classes are the first in a series of classes that continue later in the year designed for women who want to improve their archery skills and learn how to hunt. Winter workshop participants only interested in the archery classes can attend for a single day for $20.
The cost for the workshop is dependent on which activities you sign up for and lodging, meals, instruction, equipment and evening entertainment are included.
If you'd like to make the weekend a family experience, youth age 14 or older are allowed to attend with guardian.
