These recalled airbags can act like a bomb of shrapnel if deployed.  Certain airbags that were widely used in all makes and models of cars were recalled a few years ago, but many people still haven't acted. 

The airbags were manufactured by Takata and used by virtually ever auto maker in specific models ranging from the early 2000's until 2016.

Humidity can cause components of the airbag to rust, and when it deploys it sends out rusty shards of metal.  That's a big deal.  It's quick and easy to check if your car is affected.

You can always call your manufacturer's car dealer to find out.  Or even quicker is visiting the NHTSA website.

Be sure to check back because they may be including more vehicles in the recall in coming years.
