While Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins had another year left on his deal, the team made the decision to offer him a two year extension, to which he agreed.

ProFootballTalk reports that the deal was agreed to Monday morning, though the details of the contract extension have not yet been revealed, but the assumption is that the deal brings down the cap hit Cousins brings to the team's overall cap.

Cousins is set to enter the third year of his three-year deal, and the extension will keep him in a Vikings uniform for an additional two years after that period.
