It's a unique experience and one that your entire family will enjoy. A Day Out with Thomas!  The North Shore Scenic Railroad hosts the event for two weekends and includes community non-profits as volunteers giving them the opportunity to raise funds for their organization.

Last year I volunteered with the Denfeld Cheer Team and it was a blast.  According to Ken Buehler, the General Manager of the NSSRR, last summer over 15,000 people enjoyed the events which is held on two consecutive weekends to accommodate all who want to meet Thomas the Train.  This summer it will be July 31-August1 and again on August 7-August 9 from 9a-5p.

What is there to do?  LOTS!!!  It's a full day of fun and making memories!  With your purchased ticket you can do the following:

  • Access to all activities offered at Day Out With Thomas
  • Entry to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum
  • Approx. 25-minute train ride behind Thomas up the North Shore

Do I need to pre-purchase tickets?

It's Thomas the Train!  Thomas will be making a run every hour on the hour starting at 9a each day.  Often time he sells out so reservations are strongly encouraged.   If Thomas isn't sold out, there will be a limited number of walk-up sales.

Where do we park?

This is a good questions.  There are a couple of ramps available on both sides of the Depot building. Most parking locations require payment but most accept credit cards. There will be signs in place to help you locate parking and the event itself.
