The Great Pumpkin Train Brings 3000 Pumpkins To North Shore
Today is the first chance to ride the North Shore Scenic Railroad's Great Pumpkin Train. This weekend, you can ride the train up the North Shore Scenic Railroad to the pumpkin patch. Passengers can wander through a sea of pumpkins and find the perfect pumpkin to carve for Halloween.
Passengers are then brought back to the depot in Downtown Duluth, where their ticket includes entry to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum. I just toured the railroad museum again for the first time in years with friends visiting from out of town. It was one of their highlights of the trip!
Not only can you see the historic trains and railroad equipment, but there are also added activities for the kids. Live magic shows, a ventriloquist, coloring, balloon creations, snacks, and other events are planned all day. Guests can stay and enjoy the depot as long as they wish until the museum closes at 5 pm. If you have a later train departure, arrive at the museum early for activities before your excursion.
