The John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon was supposed to happen in January, but was postponed due to weather.  It got underway on Sunday and early this morning the winner crossed the finish line.

The Northland's News Center is reporting that after nearly four days on the trail, Chisholm, Minnesota native John Schroeder crossed the finish line early Wednesday morning to claim the 2013 John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon title.

Schroeder came into Duluth around 9:00 a.m. after a very tight race, adding a second title to his 2010 championship.
