I like whiskey, or whisky, however you want to spell it.  I'm no snob on it or connoisseur but I know what I like and don't.  What I don't like is cheap rail whiskey.  One brand I am fond of in particular is Jameson.  Several years ago, Jameson came out with another variation called Jameson Black Barrel.

For the Black Barrel, Jameson chars the barrels not once but twice and it's also triple distilled.  Now I can tell you what the snobs have said about the nose, taste, and finish of this whiskey but I won't.  If you're like me, you won't catch most of that when enjoying this, you'll just know if you like it or not.

Without trying it I will tell you this, if you like regular Jameson, you WILL like this.  As far as I'm concerned regular Jameson might as well be rail Jameson.  That's how much better this is to me.  Yes, the price point is higher by $20 or so a bottle depending on where you shop but you do get what you pay for with this.

Jameson Black Barrel is smooth but also very rich in flavor, and goes great on the rocks, especially after a couple of minutes chilling with the ice.  I always have a bottle on hand but I don't mix this one, I use the regular Jameson for that.  If you like Irish Whiskey and have not tried Jameson Black Barrel yet, treat yourself.
