As Minnesota's largest air and aviation event approaches, organizers are warning the public of reports of a new scam targeting people looking to attend this year's event.

The Duluth Airshow is not only Minnesota's largest air show, but the 2025 event looks to be bigger and better than before. Scheduled for the Saturday and Sunday of the 4th of July Weekend, lots of people will be looking to attend the huge show.

This year's Duluth Airshow boasts a larger lineup of aerial performances than in years past. So much so that organizers are alerting the public that flying will be starting earlier than in years past to get all of the performances in on both July 5 and 6.

As people get ready to attend this year's event, organizers for the Duluth Airshow have been getting reports of people attempting to scam would-be attendees with fake tickets.

In a social media post on Monday afternoon, organizers warned that there are only a small handful of official places to buy tickets to attend the Duluth Airshow. Some scam websites have reportedly popped up, attempting to sell fake tickets to people for this weekend's event.

Duluth Airshow organizers stress that these are scam sites, and you should only buy tickets from a trusted location. Online, you should buy your tickets from the event's official website, duluthairshow.com, or through their ticket partner eTix (which is where the Duluth Airshow website links to when buying tickets).

To buy tickets in person, you can purchase them from any Minnesota or Wisconsin Menards location or right at the gate when you arrive at the event on Saturday or Sunday.

Something else to be on the lookout for is event day streams or other "special access" sites that have popped up in years past. In recent years, there have been some social media accounts and websites that spring up around the time of the Duluth Airshow, often dropping into the official comments sections of the event, offering special live video streams or other special access.

These are also scams, whether trying to get you to visit a malicious link, collect information from you, or try to get you to pay for access to something that doesn't actually exist.

While you're waiting for this year, here are some photos from the Duluth Airshow a couple of years ago, when the US Navy Blue Angels were the headlining act.
